Our Story — Café Malabar

Arab Street, Singapore

Founded by two chefs from Kerala's Malabar Coast, Café Malabar brings the authentic flavours and traditions of Malabar to Singapore. Every dish is inspired by our heritage, crafted with passion, and served with warm hospitality.

Singapore's Arab Street welcomed traders from the Arab world, Malay archipelago and Bugis coasts from the 1820s — an address that has always been about journeys, hospitality and the smells of far-away spice.

Separately, Malabar migrants from Kerala's coast built their own Singapore community from the 1800s. Malabar Street — just a short walk from our door — still carries their name.

Café Malabar sits where these two histories meet — Malabar Coast flavour on an Arab Street address.
